Is it worth your tax dollars to fund this monumental atrocity?

“I served on the ground for 15 months during 2007 - 2008 in the Tribal Regions of the Afghan / Pak border as a US Paratrooper / Infantryman…We had soldiers FIGHT interpreters over “Jesus”. …We had Cooks that purposely put “pork products” in every dish served to purposely exclude the “locals” and “terps” working on our base from eating with us. We had shipping containers full of beans, rice, sweaters, soccer balls, etc that were only given out upon our “fucking up” and shooting the wrong thing / getting too rambunctious. We had constant issues of proselytising between US and Foreign Leadership, including mass (western) religious ceremonies… .

The new “Quran” burnings at a US / NATO Base in Afghanistan are certainly insane and only guaranteed to further sentiment in the region, regardless of whoever in the chain of command thought it was a “good idea”, but to insinuate this is anything “new” and that the US has “respect” to their occupied victims is ridiculous. How many more “bad examples” need to be given to a lethargic populace about the massive FAILURE of this war? How many more “pissing on the dead”, “accidentally bombing innocent people”, “book burnings”, “Kill teams”, etc do you all need?

For lack of anything else, is it worth your tax dollars to fund this monumental atrocity? Who is going to be the last person killed before we accept responsibility and just leave? Christ. Wake up, people.”

-Chris. P (Afghanistan War Veteran) in response to this comment:

“These actions do not represent the views of the United States military. We honour and respect the religious practices of the Afghan people, without exception” -Leon Panetta, SECDEF
