Q:(Part 2) pretty much any style (the only books I currently own are The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, which were the ones that prompted me to learn more information so that I could better understand the context of the books.) I've got some lists of books I'm considering including: The Wars of Afghanistan, Afghanistan: A Cultural and Political History, Reading Lolita in Tehran, and The Bookseller of Kabul. Are the any you wish to add or any you wouldn't recommend? Thanks!

hello dear, sorry for the late reply, but books are something i would like to take my time with. here are few books you might want to consider reading. ( I was hesitant which ones to choose, so here are some worth reading)

“An Unexpected Light: Travels in Afghanistan” (Jason Elliot)

Ghost Wars: The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001

Caravans
By James Michener

Afgantsy: the Russians in Afghanistan 1979-1989 great book if you want to know about the Russian invasion

The Photographer: Into War-Torn Afghanistan with Doctors Without Borders

Afghan Dreams: Young Voices of Afghanistan

Afghanistan

“Before Taliban: Genealogies of the Afghan Jihad” (David B. Edwards)

This is the sequel to Heroes of the Age (also a must-read)

“My Life With the Taliban” (Abdul Salam Zaeef)

a books that convey a real and unfiltered sense of the Taliban movement and their roots in the villages of southern Afghanistan.

You don’t have to read them all but, these are few of my recommendations you might want to consider :)

Thank you for asking.
